Direct action means taking matters into our own hands when those in power refuse to listen. It\u2019s not about waiting for permission or politely asking for change, because that\u2019s been done and it hasn\u2019t worked - it\u2019s about doing something, directly, to challenge injustice and defend our rights. That can look like strikes, boycotts, occupations, blockades, community organising or simply refusing to comply with unfair laws. It\u2019s the oldest and most honest form of protest: people acting together to make their voices impossible to ignore.<\/p>
Right now, showing support for direct action matters more than ever. Around the world, governments are tightening their grip - criminalising protest, silencing dissent and stripping away hard-won rights. In the UK, our current government\u2019s attitude to peaceful protest and the Conservative Party\u2019s promise to withdraw from the European Convention on Human Rights in the future shows how fragile those protections really are. When governments stop upholding basic freedoms, it falls to ordinary people to defend them. Standing with those who take direct action isn\u2019t just solidarity, it\u2019s self-preservation. It\u2019s saying we won\u2019t quietly accept a world where our rights are treated as optional.<\/p>
As for opposing genocide, hopefully there\u2019s no need for an explanation on this point. For a T shirt supporting genocide, try a designer or a sports brand, many of them have some sort of connection to genocidal government investments.<\/p>
